Director Paul Barnett was invited to the inaugural MBA Conference about Sustainability in Construction, Technology, and Business. It was a great experience to speak alongside fellow sustainability experts from the Suburban Land Agency, and the ACT Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment. Our goal was to generate meaningful conversation around sustainable options, requirements and best practise in the construction industry.
With our focus on Regenerative Design, we wanted to discuss what we, as a group, could create to suit our needs across our lifespan, and the new opportunities arising from flexible work patterns post covid. Director Paul also shared his expertise regarding Green technologies: such as Passive House, Solar Passive Design, Low Carbon, and Timber in Construction. The audience was particularly responsive to the dialogue about shared facilities like community gardens, kitchens and cafes, and agreed that we need places for young and old to connect and enhance their lives together.
The theme for the 2022 Conference is Sustainability in Construction, Technology and Business. Focusing on issues that are most relevant to our local industry, the MBA Conference aims to bring together likeminded members, partners and professionals, to upskill, network and develop ideas for a more sustainable construction industry.
