Affordable Living Pod Housing in Regenerative Villages

2022 November

Director Paul has been providing advice to the Watson community regarding affordable Living Pod housing in regenerative villages in support of their negotiation with the government on the development of Section 76. The community’s combined efforts have led to the ACT Government determining the Watson Section 76 as one of their Demonstration Housing Project sites. They have included a Cohousing site, working alongside Cohousing Canberra, and these developments are very closely aligned with Director Paul’s beliefs. PBDG will be joining the development of this Cohousing Project in 2023.

In October, YWAM Canberra held a Community Spring Fair which Director Paul Barnett was invited to attend to share his thoughts about affordable Living Pod housing in regenerative villages.

The Watson Community and their various community groups have been developing their plan for an ideal community village. Our Director has provided his time pro bono to share his expertise in building living pods for multigenerational families, and passive house buildings that help to save energy. The community was passionate about hearing these ideas, as they are looking for alternative development to the highly dense residential development that has been erected in their suburb. It is an exciting time in our world post-covid to start looking at alternative designs to support our new ways of living.
