Paul Barnett has won the President’s Medal at the 2019 National Architecture Awards, “the highest honour bestowed on an individual by the ACT Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects” (Australian Institute of Architects).

With long-standing focus on environmental sustainability, Paul’s work is deeply grounded in the natural environment, reflected through his projects that include Passivhaus principles, water harvesting, biophilic design and natural, organic landscapes. His work is well regarded and has been recognised by several Institute of Architects award including 2011 Education prize for St Thomas Kambah Primary School and the 2013 Education Prize St Joseph’s Early Childhood Learning Centre.
This year’s Presidents Medal recognises over 25 years of commitment to architecture, the environment, community, collaboration and most importantly, optimism.
