2020 November
PBDG have produced a Masterplan after consultation with Maribyrnong Primary School students, parents and staff in a series of presentations and workshops at the school. Throughout terms 3 and 4, Paul gave talks about play spaces, naturescapes, different types of play, and outdoor learning environments and interacted with Kindergartens, Year 4s, Year 6s, and the Student Representative Council to discover what the children want in their natural playground. It was fun to see how many young children expressed their love for heights and thrills through their many suggestions for flying foxes (one student even specified the height to be 5 metres off the ground and 20 metres long!).

Maribyrnong Masterplan Workshop
As a part of our Storyline unit, Kindergarten had a visit from Paul, the landscape architect who is designing our Playground Master Plan. He was very impressed with the work we have done on our playground designs. He talked with us about how we use the outdoor spaces around our school. Paul was interested to find out about our favourite outdoor spaces and what activities we like to do outside. We voted for our most-liked playground activities and equipment that we would like to see on the master plan. Climbing was a very popular activity and we were very excited at the possibility of using natural resources, like different sized logs, to play on and climb over.
