Australian Institute of Architects President’s Award

2022 April

Paul Barnett was awarded the President’s Award 2004 ACT Architecture Awards, RAIA ACT Chapter. This was for the work done at Orana School to help the dispossessed school community rebuild their learning environment after the 2003 Canberra fires. You can view the Orana Kindergarten and Naturescape project here, and the Orana Overture Hall and Amphitheatre project here.

With this 2004 Presidents Award I wish to recognise the architects in the community who have contributed (and continue to contribute) to the post-fire healing process (2003 January Canberra Fires).

Many architects… have been exemplars of service to the community. We do not take for granted your altruistic efforts and ongoing work for a healthy and sustainable city.

We thank you.

Presented at the national Gallery of Australia by Catherine Townsend FRAIA ACT Chapter President, 18th June 2004
